PSR are currently recruiting for a Permanent Contracts Manager which will be covering projects across the Home Counties. This will be working for a reputable contractor within the Civils industry.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of highways civils schemes, from Early Contractor Involvement through to construction and completion. The role requires strong collaboration with National Highways, internal teams, and supply chain partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and drive highways civils schemes from ECI stage through to final delivery.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with National Highways to support successful project outcomes.
- Take an active role in the planning and development of highways schemes.
- Manage site teams and supply chain partners, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements.
- Work closely with the Pre-Construction team and the client, contributing to programme development and influencing design and delivery during the ECI stage.
- Develop, manage, and maintain contractual programmes, updating cost forecasts in collaboration with the commercial team.
- Support the development of team members through coaching, mentoring, and training.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials, plant, and subcontractors to meet project and business targets.
- Assist the Operations Manager in identifying and developing future work opportunities within the region.
Person Specification
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in ECI and delivery of civils infrastructure projects, particularly highways schemes.
- Strong experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to successfully deliver projects.
- Sound knowledge and experience of NEC contracts.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
- Experience working with National Highways.
- Experience in the management of temporary works.
- A formal qualification in a civil engineering or related discipline.
