A leading UK engineering and building services contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to support the successful delivery of a major construction project in Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile project, taking responsibility for managing and coordinating the building services design process, ensuring the timely completion of design information by external consultants and supporting the project team through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the MEP design process from detailed design through to project completion.
- Coordinate and oversee external MEP design consultants.
- Review and manage design deliverables to ensure programme milestones are achieved.
- Liaise with project managers, commercial teams, consultants, subcontractors and the client.
- Identify and resolve design clashes and technical issues.
- Ensure designs comply with current Building Regulations, British Standards and project specifications.
- Monitor design progress and report on key milestones and risks.
- Support the construction team with technical queries throughout the build.
- Maintain design quality, document control and project compliance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an MEP Design Manager or Building Services Design Manager.
- Strong background in mechanical and electrical building services.
- Experience managing external consultants and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Good understanding of construction methodology and project delivery.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced project environment.
