Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator to join their expanding Pre-Construction team.
- Senior Estimator roles and responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for a range of construction projects from initial enquiry through to tender submission.
- Review tender documentation, specifications and drawings to identify project scope, risks and opportunities.
- Develop cost plans and pricing strategies, ensuring estimates are commercially robust and competitive.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations and build effective working relationships.
- Work collaboratively with Pre-Construction, Commercial and Operational teams to develop innovative construction solutions.
- Assess construction methodologies, procurement routes and programme implications during the tender process.
- Produce bills of quantities and pricing documentation using Conquest or equivalent estimating software.
- Support value engineering exercises and identify opportunities to improve project efficiency and client value.
- Ensure all estimates are prepared accurately and submitted within agreed deadlines.
- Senior Estimator requirements
- Degree qualified in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or possess equivalent industry experience.
- Proven experience in an estimating role within a Tier 1, regional main contractor or specialist subcontractor.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, procurement routes and current market costs.
- Experience using Conquest or similar estimating software.
- Good understanding of NEC forms of contract.
- Ideally possess previous site-based construction experience.
- Excellent numerical, analytical and commercial awareness.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Professional membership, or working towards membership of a recognised industry body, is advantageous.
