Managing Director — Fire Division
We have partnered with a key client of ours who are now looking for a Managing Director to take full ownership of their Fire Solutions division.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone to join a growing business who are well networked in the construction community.
You will lead the department commercially and operationally — driving new contract wins, building the right team, managing delivery, and scaling the business with a clear target of doubling revenue and headcount within three years.
You will report directly to the Group Director and have genuine autonomy to run the division as your own business within the group structure.
What You Will Do
- Own the P&L — revenue, margins, costs, and financial performance.
- Lead business development — win framework contracts with housing associations, FM providers, local authorities, and NHS estates.
- Build the delivery team — recruit, develop, and retain the engineers and managers needed to scale.
- Drive compliance — maintain and strengthen BAFE and IFC accreditations as the business grows.
- Identify and develop new service lines — including passive fire remediation (post-Grenfell market) and maintenance contracts.
- Report to the Group Director and contribute to group-wide strategic decisions
Who We Are Looking For...
- 8+ years in fire protection as a minium — passive fire, active systems, suppression, or fire compliance.
- Previous P&L ownership or core P&L involvement at a fire contractor.
- Proven track record of growing a fire business — new frameworks, new clients, bigger teams.
- Strong understanding of BAFE, IFC, BS 9999, and the wider compliance landscape.
- Relationships with FM contractors, housing associations, or public sector procurement teams.
- Operationally and commercially credible — able to win the work and deliver it.

- Flexible working base (Northern or Southern based) — Currently Essex is the HQ, with client and site travel as required.
