I am currently recruiting on behalf of my client, a well-established construction company with a strong pipeline of work. They are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to take responsibility for the successful delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through to completion.
The Role
As Senior Project Manager, you will play a key leadership role across both pre-construction and live project delivery stages. You will work closely with the Project Quantity Surveyor, supporting financial reporting, cost planning, and project performance from tender stage through to final account. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are properly planned, resourced, and compliant before works commence, and for driving safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-Construction & Tenders:
- Support and contribute to tender submissions and pre-construction planning
- Review and develop construction methodologies and buildability proposals
- Assist with programme development and sequencing at tender stage
- Collaborate with commercial teams to support cost planning and risk evaluation
- Identify risks, constraints, and opportunities during bid stages
- Project Delivery:
- Work closely with the Quantity Surveyor to support cost reporting and financial forecasting
- Develop and maintain the main programme (logic of works)
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies and CDM Regulations as Principal Contractor
- Prepare and manage Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Construction Phase Plans
- Provide strong leadership and direction to site teams and employees
- Manage labour resources and maintain high levels of productivity
- Expedite design information and materials from the design team
- Manage subcontractors and the wider supply chain effectively
- Ensure compliance with company Quality Procedures and standards
- Oversee quality control and ensure a snag-free handover
About You
- Proven experience in a Senior Project Manager or similar role within construction
- Strong background in both pre-construction/tendering and project delivery
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations
- Experience managing projects from inception through to completion
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage clients, consultants, and subcontractors at all levels
- Relevant construction, built environment qualification, or trade background
