The Opportunity
A leading M&E contractor is seeking an experienced Senior M&E Project Manager to join the team on a flagship major project in the Midlands. This is a high-profile role overseeing a £50m M&E package, requiring strong leadership, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage senior project delivery staff.
You will have overall responsibility for the M&E delivery, directly managing a Mechanical Project Manager and an Electrical Project Manager, while working closely with the client, main contractor, and internal commercial teams.
Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for the successful delivery of a £50m M&E package
- Overall leadership and coordination of mechanical and electrical works
- Line management of the Mechanical Project Manager and Electrical Project Manager
- Ownership of programme, quality, cost control, and risk management
- Lead client, consultant, and senior stakeholder engagement
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality standards, and contractual obligations
- Oversee procurement strategy, subcontractor performance, and supply chain management
- Work closely with commercial teams on valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Drive collaboration across design, construction, and commissioning phases
- Provide clear reporting on progress, risks, and mitigation strategies
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior M&E Project Manager or equivalent on large-scale projects
- Track record of delivering major M&E packages (£30m+ ideally)
- Strong technical understanding of both mechanical and electrical building services
- Experience managing senior project managers and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge
- Confident communicator with strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Background working for a Tier 1 M&E contractor or major specialist subcontractor
- Relevant industry qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree in Building Services, Engineering, or similar)
- SMSTS and CSCS (or equivalent)
