With over a 100 years construction industry experience, our client has an enviable reputation working on both large scale construction projects and infrastructure frameworks, with a particular focus on small to medium scale civil engineering and industrial projects. They are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor, looking for progression to SQS, ideally with airports experience, and are happy to consider candidates from any construction background.
As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to work on and have ownership of civils and build projects between £1 - £10m, and potentially standalone projects up to £40m.
Quantity Surveyor roles and responsibilities:- Prepare, monitor, and report cost plans, forecasts, CVRs, cash flow, and final account settlements.
- Manage valuation submissions, applications for payment, and proactively monitor cash flow.
- Administer notices, claims, and compensation events in line with NEC principles.
- Act as liaison between clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth interface and timely communication.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or construction related qualification with relevant experience.
- Quantity Survey experience within civil engineering or build environment, working for either a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
- NEC Contracts experience is essential.
- Experience working on airport projects or frameworks is advantageous.
- Experience interfacing and working collaboratively with project, subcontractor and clients teams.
- Working for an established civil engineering and building contractor, delivering framework and standalone projects on Gatwick Airport.
