A well-established main contractor based in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join their commercial team, supporting the delivery of industrial and logistics projects valued up to £50 million.

This is a key role within the business, working closely with estimating, commercial, design, and business development teams to successfully take projects from early engagement through to construction.

The Role
  • Managing the pre-construction process and ensuring tenders and negotiated projects are effectively planned, costed, and de-risked.
  • Managing pre-construction activities from early-stage design through to contract award.
  • Coordinating input from estimating, commercial, design, and planning teams.
  • Leading tender strategy, programme development, and value engineering.
  • Managing risk, opportunity, and buildability reviews.
  • Supporting client and consultant meetings during pre-construction.
  • Ensuring smooth handover from pre-construction to delivery teams.
About You
  • Proven experience in a Pre-Construction Manager or similar role with a main contractor.
  • Strong background in industrial and logistics projects.
  • Sound commercial awareness and understanding of construction processes.
  • Experience managing tenders and negotiated work up to £50m.
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
