We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of highways and infrastructure projects across our portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven individual with a strong background in highways, civil engineering, and project delivery to join a growing organisation committed to quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

The successful candidate will take ownership of projects from inception through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the full lifecycle of highways and civil engineering projects.
  • Develop and maintain project programmes, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Lead site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project objectives.
  • Monitor project performance, costs, risks, and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, local authorities, and supply chain partners.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Manage change control processes and contractual obligations.
  • Support business development activities by identifying opportunities for growth and repeat business.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within highways, civil engineering, infrastructure, or related sectors.
  • Strong understanding of highways maintenance, improvement schemes, traffic management, and associated construction activities.
  • Experience managing project budgets, programmes, and commercial performance.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Preferred Skills
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • SMSTS certification.
  • CSCS Managers Card.
  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (ICE, CIHT, APM, etc.).
