Freelance Externals Manager
We are working with a leading Tier 1 main contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Externals Manager to oversee the delivery of the external works package on a high-quality new build project in London.
The Role
- Manage all external works packages from start to finish.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to a high standard.

- Kerbing
- Paving
- Hard landscaping
- Soft landscaping
- External finishes
- Roads and footpaths
- Drainage interfaces
- Ensure quality inspections and snagging are completed in line with programme.
- Monitor site health & safety and ensure compliance with company procedures.
- Work closely with the Project Manager, Site Team and subcontractors to maintain programme milestones.
- Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates.
- Resolve technical and site coordination issues efficiently.
About You
- Proven experience as an Externals Manager or Senior Site Manager delivering external works packages on new build projects.
- Strong understanding of kerbs, paving, hard landscaping and soft landscaping.
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors and coordinating external works.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Able to drive programme while maintaining high standards of quality and health & safety.
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid are essential.
