Our client is a leading infrastructure contractor working on Major Projects across the Railway, Highways and Power sectors, specialising in the delivery of sustainable mechanical, electrical and telecommunication engineering solutions. They have recently tendered and been awarded a number of Major Project M&E packages and are looking to build a project design, delivery and commercial team, with over 5 years guaranteed work.
The Freelance BIM Coordinator will be responsible for the line management and technical supervision of BIM Technicians, ensuring delivery of coordinated BIM models and documentation in accordance with company standards, project requirements and ISO 19650 processes.
BIM Coordinator roles and responsibilities:- Assist in the delivery and coordination of projects from technical design through to construction, utilising Autodesk & Bentley software.
- Ensure effective, accurate and efficient draughting services to all projects.
- Support effective delivery of projects to time, quality, and cost targets together with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
- Support the implementation of best practices and consistent processes across projects, liaising with stakeholders and supply chain partners to maintain quality and consistency.
- Develop and manage 2D and 3D models and associated documentation using industry-standard CAD and BIM tools such as MicroStation & OpenBuildings Designer.
- Ensure models are fully coordinated by applying clash detection and avoidance techniques within a federated BIM environment or digital model.
- Produce high-quality 3D models and detailed construction drawings, ensuring alignment with overall project information requirements.
- Develop model geometry and associated data in accordance with project standards, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and relevant information requirements.
- HNC or HND in Engineering/Design.
- Proficient use of Bentley MicroStation and Bentley OpenBuildings Designer.
- In-depth working knowledge of 3D modelling and BIM.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a BIM Coordinator role within infrastructure, construction, or engineering environments.
- Previous experience on M&E design schemes delivering complex integrated design and installations.
