Structural Engineer – Residential Development | Guildford Location: Guildford, Surrey A major town-centre residential development in Guildford is seeking a Structural Engineer to join the delivery team for a high-profile 180‑apartment scheme. This project is part of a wider urban regeneration initiative and includes multi-storey residential blocks with complex structural requirements and associated enabling works. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically skilled engineer to contribute to a design-led, high-quality residential scheme and gain experience on a large-scale development. The Role Provide structural engineering design input and oversight for the 179‑apartment residential development Review and interpret architectural and civil drawings to develop structural solutions Liaise with architects, MEP engineers, and site teams to ensure structural integrity throughout design and construction Carry out structural calculations, prepare technical documentation, and issue design drawings for approval Support site teams with technical queries, inspections, and resolving structural issues Ensure compliance with building regulations, industry standards, and health & safety requirements Contribute to value engineering and design optimisation where appropriate You Qualified Structural Engineer (BEng/MEng or equivalent), with chartered status preferred (CEng/ICE or IStructE) Proven experience in multi-storey residential or mixed-use projects Strong technical knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel, and composite structures Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit Structure, Tekla, or similar Experience reviewing drawings, performing calculations, and producing structural reports Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with design and site teams Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities What\’s on Offer Opportunity to work on a landmark 180‑apartment town-centre development Exposure to complex multi-storey residential construction and enabling works Collaborative, supportive team environment Competitive salary and benefits package Career progression opportunities within a growing residential construction programme If you are interested in this opportunity, apply or email me your cv
