PSR Solutions are recruiting for a Project Manager role in the South West/ London. This will be working for a specialist contractor within the civils sector.

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of construction projects or major work packages, ensuring performance against safety, commercial, programme, quality, and people objectives. This role provides overall leadership to the construction team, ensuring delivery in line with contractual requirements, within budget and programme constraints, and to the highest standards of technical excellence. The Project Manager champions a culture of safety and accountability, setting a zero-tolerance standard for unsafe practices and ensuring full compliance with Safety Management Systems and organisational values.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary company representative across all project interfaces
  • Serve as the main client contact, ensuring clear communication and alignment of expectations
  • Establish and lead the project team, defining roles, responsibilities, and expected behaviours
  • Develop, manage, and deliver the construction programme to meet cost, time, quality, and contractual requirements
  • Ensure full understanding and communication of project scope, requirements, and documentation
  • Oversee production controls, progress reporting, and continuous performance improvement
  • Implement Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems across the project
  • Lead the development and approval of Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Construction Phase Plans, and Quality Plans
  • Promote a zero-tolerance safety culture and ensure compliance with statutory training requirements
  • Ensure adherence to IMS, QMS, and environmental procedures, including incident reporting and occupational health standards
  • Plan and coordinate labour, plant, and materials with the Labour Manager and Commercial Team
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, temporary works, and design partners to meet programme and quality targets
  • Raise requisitions for resources and subcontract packages in line with project timelines
  • Deliver projects within authorised budgets while optimising cost and quality outcomes
  • Monitor scope against contract requirements and raise variations promptly with Commercial or Project leadership
  • Support tender submissions and attend handover meetings where required
  • Participate in internal and client meetings, including progress, H&S, and coordination sessions
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of project documentation to clients
  • Provide regular updates to the Project Director on performance, risks, and key project issues
