We are working with a leading construction organisation delivering a major £130m project and are looking for an experienced Senior Design Manager to join the project team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design process across the £130m project from pre-construction through to delivery.
- Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, specialist subcontractors and supply-chain partners.
- Ensure design information is delivered on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Lead design reviews, coordination meetings and technical workshops with key stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve design, technical and coordination issues before they impact the construction programme.
- Work closely with the Project Director, Commercial, Planning and Construction teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Design Manager or Design Manager within a main contractor environment.
- Experience working on major construction projects valued at £100m+
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of the design and construction process.
- Experience managing consultants, designers, specialist subcontractors and supply-chain partners.
- Strong understanding of design coordination, technical approvals and design risk management.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong knowledge of UK construction standards, Building Regulations and CDM requirements.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in Construction, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline is desirable.
