Design Manager Location: Durham (Office & Site Based) The Role An established construction and property solutions contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Design Manager to join their team based out of their Durham office. This is a split role between office and site, giving you the opportunity to be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction and design development through to on-site delivery. Working across refurbishment, fit-out, industrial and construction projects nationwide, you'll be responsible for coordinating and managing the design process while working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and operational teams. The role will involve travel to sites across the UK, with travel and lodging provided when working away from home. Design Manager Responsibilities Manage the design process from tender stage through to project completion. Coordinate architects, consultants, engineers and specialist subcontractors. Ensure design information is delivered accurately and in line with project programmes. Attend site visits and design meetings to support project delivery teams. Review drawings and technical submissions, identifying and resolving design issues. Manage RFI's, design changes and technical queries throughout the project lifecycle. Support value engineering and buildability reviews. Ensure all designs comply with current regulations, client specifications and project requirements. Requirements Previous experience working as a Design Manager within the construction industry. Strong understanding of design management and construction processes. Experience delivering refurbishment, fit-out, industrial or commercial projects. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and workstreams simultaneously. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Relevant construction, engineering or architectural qualification preferred. Full UK driving licence. Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required. What's On Offer £65,000 - £75,000 Car allowance. Travel expenses covered. Lodging provided when working away on projects.
