- Dementia Specialist Support Worker
- Lockerbie
Permanent contract, 22–44 hours per week, day or night shifts. Competitive hourly rate of £13.45, up to £30,773.60 per year.
Responsibilities
- Provide person‑centred support to individuals living with dementia, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
- Work closely with the Home Manager, Deputy Manager, and Senior Care Team to deliver outstanding dementia care.
- Contribute to the smooth day‑to‑day running of the service, ensuring residents receive compassionate support tailored to their individual needs.
Qualifications
- Caring, compassionate, and empathetic nature with a genuine passion for supporting people living with dementia.
- Experience working with individuals living with dementia within a care home, residential, or community setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and professional approach with a commitment to delivering high standards of person‑centred care.
- A Care Certificate, SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
- Good understanding of dementia care principles and approaches (training or qualifications in dementia care would be advantageous).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Welcomed are candidates with care experience who have a genuine interest in specialising in dementia care and are eager to develop their skills.
