PSR Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Commercial Manager - Building Services to join a leading Tier 1 contractor on a major high-profile project in Central London. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key commercial leadership role on a complex, high-value scheme, taking responsibility from pre-construction through delivery and final accounts. The successful candidate will lead the commercial function on significant MEP packages within a major commercial development environment.
The business is recognised for delivering technically challenging projects through collaborative working, strong supply chain partnerships, and a proactive approach to risk management and project delivery.
The Role
As Senior Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of all commercial and financial aspects of the project, ensuring effective procurement, contract management, reporting, and commercial control throughout the lifecycle of the scheme. You will be responsible for managing large and complex MEP packages, leading commercial strategy, supporting project delivery teams, and maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial management activities on major construction projects
- Manage procurement in line with project strategy and company governance
- Ensure subcontract packages are fully scoped, competitively tendered, and appropriately contracted
- Administer NEC and JCT contracts effectively
- Manage client communications in line with contractual obligations
- Oversee change management, interim valuations, cash flow, and final accounts
- Produce accurate commercial reporting and forecasting
- Manage risk, legal, insurance, and commercial controls across the project
- Lead and develop relationships with supply chain partners
- Support value engineering and commercial optimisation opportunities
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Senior Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor role within a Tier 1 main contractor environment
- Strong background delivering major commercial office projects with significant MEP packages
- Experience on projects valued £30m+
- Strong knowledge of NEC4, JCT, Construction Management, and Management Contracting forms
- Experience converting projects from pre-construction into live construction phases
- Ability to manage claims, variations, prolongation, and loss & expense
- Excellent commercial reporting and forecasting capabilities
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- MRICS, MCIOB or equivalent professional qualification preferred
- Valid CSCS Card
