Our client is one of London’s leading Civil Engineering, RC Frame and Demolition contractors working within the M25. They are currently recruiting for a Preconstruction Technical Manager to join their central London Team.
As the ideal candidate you will be from an engineering or project manager background, with experience in structural alterations, cut & carve and demolition, technically proficient with complex temporary works, and developing programme of works at preconstruction / tender stage.
Preconstruction Technical Manager roles and responsibilities:
- Develop technical solutions for tender submissions on complex logistically challenging cut & carve and demolition projects.
- Review and identify client’s requirements and project constraints.
- Develop logistics and crane strategy that mitigates site constraints.
- Develop technical enquiries & instructions for external supply chain (e.g. scaffolding) & workshop to produce optimal cost/programme solutions.
- Prepare programme of works (including allocation of labour and plant).
- Coordinate with estimating team to ensure commercial/technical alignment and produce technical submission and tender programme outline.
- Develop tender queries & prepare mid bid & post bid presentations.
- Liaise with the bid and pre‑construction team to deliver best possible achievable programmes and prices.
Preconstruction Technical Manager requirements:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or similar qualification and relevant experience.
- 5 - 8 years’ experience working for a specialist contractor delivering either RC Frames, Demolition, Structural Alterations, Cut & Carve projects.
- Previous preconstruction experience developing programmes of works, managing technical queries and developing technical solutions.
- Able to work independently and confident in making your own decisions.
- Working knowledge of Asta.
