I’m currently working with a well-established Regional Main Contractor who are looking to appoint a Regional Public Sector Manager to help drive their growth across the region. This is a newly created / key strategic position, focused on identifying new public sector opportunities, developing client relationships and securing future work across the region. The role will work closely with the senior leadership and pre-construction teams, taking ownership of the public sector pipeline and ensuring the business is positioned to win the right projects.

The Role:

  • Identify and develop new public sector projects and client opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key public sector clients and stakeholders
  • Identify, manage and maximise opportunities through public sector frameworks
  • Monitor upcoming procurements, pipeline opportunities and market activity
  • Support the region with bids, tenders and pre-construction activities
  • Work closely with Estimating, Pre-Construction and Commercial teams to develop winning bids
  • Develop strategic relationships with framework providers and key consultants
  • Help shape the regional public sector strategy and identify areas for future growth
  • Track the public sector pipeline and provide regular updates to the senior leadership team
  • Support the business in securing repeat and negotiated work with existing clients
  • Represent the business at industry events, client meetings and networking opportunities

The Person:

I’m looking for someone with a strong background in public sector construction, ideally from a Main Contractor environment, who understands how to identify opportunities and turn them into secured work. You’ll ideally have experience with:

  • Public sector frameworks and procurement routes
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Building relationships with public sector clients
  • Working across a regional construction market
  • Understanding of public sector procurement and pipeline development

This is a business development / strategic growth role, rather than a traditional sales position. You’ll need to understand construction, procurement and the public sector market, whilst being commercially minded and confident dealing with clients and senior stakeholders.
