We are currently recruiting for an organised and proactive Health & Safety Administrator to join a busy construction project on a 14-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative experience and a working understanding of construction health and safety who enjoys working in a fast-paced project environment.

Working as part of the project team, you will play a key role in ensuring health and safety documentation is maintained accurately, compliance records are up to date, and project administration is delivered efficiently. The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively with sites and office teams, and work with a high level of accuracy. This is a hybrid position, with a mixture of home working and time spent in our client's Birmingham office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update health and safety documentation, records and databases.
  • Support the project team with the administration of health and safety processes.
  • Ensure all project documentation is accurate, compliant and filed correctly.
  • Monitor and track health and safety certifications, training records and compliance documentation.
  • Assist with the preparation of site files, RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements), induction packs and audit documentation.
  • Coordinate meetings, take minutes and distribute actions where required.
  • Liaise with site teams, subcontractors and internal departments to obtain outstanding documentation.
  • Produce reports, spreadsheets and project trackers using Microsoft Office.
  • Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously while meeting project deadlines.
  • Provide general administrative support to the wider project and health & safety teams.
Requirements
  • Previous administration experience, ideally within the construction or engineering sector.
  • A basic understanding of health and safety legislation and procedures within construction.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a wider project team.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • A positive, proactive approach with a willingness to learn.
Desirable
  • Experience supporting construction, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of document control systems.
  • Experience maintaining compliance records or health & safety documentation.
  • Understanding of CDM Regulations and construction health & safety requirements.
  • Health & Safety qualifications such as IOSH Working Safely or similar would be advantageous, although not essential.
