PSR Solutions are currently recruiting for a Freelance Setting Out Engineer on behalf of a specialist civil engineering contractor for a project based in East London. Our client is a well-established contractor delivering infrastructure and civil engineering works across Essex.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out and checking levels for a concrete slab installation, ensuring excavation depths, formation levels and final concrete levels are accurate ahead of and during the pour.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out works using total station or similar equipment.
- Checking dig depth and formation levels for the slab area.
- Verifying slab extents and shuttering positions.
- Ensuring concrete levels are correct during the pour.
- Interpreting rebar layouts and bending schedules to support the site team.
- Working closely with steel fixers, shuttering carpenters and the wider site team to ensure works are delivered to specification.
Requirements
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, reinforcement layouts and bending schedules.
- Own setting out equipment (total station / surveying kit) preferred.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Experience working on concrete slabs, groundwork or structural elements.
