A leading, privately owned Tier 1 main contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join its delivery team on a range of major new construction projects across Leeds and Sheffield. Multiple new projects are set to start in these regions, and your background, location, and experience will determine which scheme you will be placed on. These projects include high‑rise developments and education schemes, such as schools and universities, offering complex and high‑profile builds.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the day‑to‑day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Full site management from enabling works through to handover
- Managing subcontractors, labour, and site logistics
- Ensuring compliance with H&S, QA, and environmental standards
- Driving programme, productivity, and build quality
- Coordinating with project, commercial, and design teams
- Maintaining excellent site presentation and client relationships
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Experience working for a Tier 1 or large main contractor
- Proven delivery experience on high‑rise projects and/or education schemes (schools or universities)
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and site management best practice
- CIOB membership or actively working towards MCIOB chartership (essential)
- SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
