I am currently recruiting on behalf of my client, a well-established Tier 1 contractor with an extensive and secured pipeline of work across Yorkshire. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Site Manager to join their expanding team. The business delivers a diverse portfolio of public sector new-build and refurbishment projects, maintaining an excellent reputation for quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

The Role

Working alongside the Site Manager and Project Team, you will assist in the day-to-day management of construction projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Site Manager with the delivery of projects from inception through to completion.
  • Coordinating subcontractors and site labour.
  • Monitoring health and safety compliance on site.
  • Assisting with quality inspections and ensuring works meet required standards.
  • Managing site documentation and reporting.
  • Helping to maintain programme targets and project milestones.
  • Building positive relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within construction.
  • Experience working on new-build and refurbishment projects.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS Card, and First Aid qualification preferred.
  • A proactive approach with a desire to progress within a leading contractor.
