Salary – National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging from £67,100 to £90,000 and London £73,700 to £100,000 per annum (Salary offered will be based on skills and experience)
About the FCA
The FCA regulates the conduct of 45,000 firms in the UK to ensure our financial markets are honest, fair and competitive. The FCA’s Retail Banking Division is responsible for the supervision and policy making for retail banking activities and mortgages in the UK, including those undertaken by the largest retail banking groups. We deliver the conduct agenda through a combination of firm-specific, sector-wide, and event-driven activity to deliver better outcomes for UK customers.
What will you be doing?
- Developing and delivering effective supervisory strategies to address key risks of harm and considering interventions where appropriate
- Engaging with the senior management of firms and influencing them to deliver better customer outcomes
- Forming sound judgement on a variety of regulatory topics and communicating this clearly to stakeholders
- Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Direct line management for team members, including setting appropriate objectives and managing performance
- Playing an intrinsic part in the division’s leadership and management team

Which skills are required?
Minimum
- Experience of the financial services industry and banking sector
- Previous people management/leadership experience
- Significant experience of building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders
Essential
- Strong judgement and analytical skills
- Drive and a flexible approach to change
- Ability to influence and build constructive relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organisational skills
