Role Overview: Supervise market‑abuse surveillance in cryptoassets and traditional markets, ensuring firms and trading venues have effective controls to detect and report suspicious activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess firms’ and trading venues’ market‑abuse surveillance systems and controls.
  • Deliver formal communications to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support colleague upskilling through cryptoasset training.
  • Keep senior management apprised of developments and advise where appropriate.

Key Qualifications:

  • Practical experience in UK financial markets, gained in a financial services firm, trading venue, consultancy or regulator.
  • Working knowledge of traded‑market mechanics and market‑abuse typologies.
  • Understanding of the UK Market Abuse Regulation (UK MAR) and the crypto‑asset regime (MARC, CP25/41).
  • Experience identifying and analysing key risks of harm across information.
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self‑starter with proactive approach to skill development.
  • Demonstrable compliance and surveillance experience for traded products.
