The predicted salary is between 43500 - 43500 £ per year.

Salary: National (Edinburgh and Leeds) £39,100‑£43,500 per annum, London £41,600‑£46,000 per annum (salary based on skills and experience).

Grade: Associate – Level 8.

Role responsibilities

  • Develop key explanatory chapters of FCA publications by drafting and refining content in collaboration with policy teams and strategic communication partners.
  • Edit publications, digital content, corporate documents and blogs to ensure clarity, conciseness, and plain‑English standards, working with colleagues across the FCA.
  • Use AI tools to improve drafting and editorial processes by building, testing and refining prompts for policy and corporate teams.
  • Support and advocate for the organisation’s tone of voice and writing style, educating colleagues on its use.
  • Guide and shape the tone and content of written work using experience and creativity to enhance communication impact and consistency.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Communication Directorate, including Strategic Comms and News, Digital and Design, social media and Speechwriting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum – Ability to turn complex information into clear, concise, compelling messages with advanced written skills; match an organisation’s tone of voice; knowledge of plain language and accessible communication; stakeholder management experience with ability to advocate for clear content.
  • Essential – Solid editorial experience writing and editing corporate documents such as annual reports, business plans, and consultation and policy papers; technical expertise in clear content (plain language); experience turning technical information into accessible content.
