The Early and High Growth Oversight (EHGO) department within the FCA’s Authorisations Directorate supervises firms to raise standards, prevent harm and support growth, focusing on newly authorised and rapidly growing firms. EHGO works across diverse sectors, engaging with start-ups, scaling firms and innovative business models. . As a supervisor in the Consumer and Wholesale Investments team in EHGO, you will proactivelysupervisefirms across the advisers and intermediaries, asset management, wealth management and platforms portfolios,supportdelivery ofkeyprojects,andexperience first-hand how EHGO aims to raise standards and improve firm experiences.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the supervision of firms, managing complex issues to protect consumers and market integrity.
  • Work quickly and collaboratively to tackle harm, assess compliance with relevant rules and requirements, and proactively seek ways to support firms navigate the regulatory landscape and promote growth,
  • Engage constructively with firms through verbal and written communication to influence and support firms effectively.
  • Build effective relationships with colleagues in different areas of the FCA, including Authorisations, Supervision and Enforcement to deliver joined-up, consistent, and proportionate regulatory outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong regulatory and technical knowledge of the consumer and wholesale investments markets.
  • Playa key role insupporting thedelivery ofbroader departmental and divisional projects.

Skills Required

  • Experience analysing complex information, making sound risk-based judgements and clearly presenting key issues and recommendations
  • Experience working in financial services and solid technical knowledge of consumer and wholesale investments markets, including associated consumer and market harm
  • Experience building and managing effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management and external parties
  • Experience of managing complex casework and competing priorities to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrable ability to assess, explain and elevate complex risks clearly, even in high-stakes situations
  • Self-motivated and organised, able to take initiative, make timely decisions and respond well to changing demands
  • Skilled at managing stakeholders, building collaborative relationships and steering outcomes
  • Proficient in using data, analytics and visualisation tools to identify trends and deliver actionable insights
  • Professional and well organised, working well with others, and able to manage multiple priorities while contributing to shared outcomes
