Job Description
Over the last 20 years our client has grown to become the UK's leading specialist finance broker, providing fast, flexible unrivalled access to the UK’s specialist finance marketplace.
The continuous growth has created new roles within the business development team.
This business development role will help focus on the acquision of new relationships through intermediaries (smaller finance brokers).
The posion requires a person who has ideally previously held a sales or business development role, preferably in Financial Services or working with brokers. The person needs to be passionate about hitting targets and building relationships.
Responsibilites:
- Acquiring and building relationships with Brokers, predominantly via telephone.
- Fielding and responding to queries from finance Brokers.
- Educating the Brokers on maximising the use of your products.
- Increasing the number of Brokers refering leads by outlining the benefits of your company for both them and their clients.
- To record all actvity and maintain a prospects pipeline.
- To regularly update the Sales Director on progress against targets and produce reports as requested.
- Seek opportunities for networking in order to expand contacts, knowledge and new business opportunites.
- To build an expert knowledge of the Industry and commercial awareness to enable the development and growth of new business opportunites and to achieve sales.
- Recommend process improvement to enhance the success in securing new business opportunites.
- Tracking of loan applications.
- Tracking of leads that you get from Brokers.
- Assist with general analysis and reporting on Broker activity on a monthly basis.
- Building awareness and a credible reputation for your employer in the broker community.
Experience:
- 6 months+ experience of business development or similar sales experience; financial services sales, wealth management, investment management asset gathering.
- Previous experience working for a Bank, Finance Broker or Lender would be advantageous.
- Proven track record of hitting sales targets.
- Some experience in explaining complex products or services to businesses, ideally with some familiarity of financial services
- Graduate level qualification not essential but ideal.

- Excellent written and oral communication ability (ability to lead and control a phone discussion / negotiation to ensure efficiency).
- A natural flair for developing business relationships.
- Ability to "think outside the box" and suggest changes to processes / sales tactics in order to improve efficiency and impact.
- Ability to think quickly and adapt our messaging in response to comments from brokers.
- Ability to close deals and bring discussions/negotiations to a conclusion
- Solution driven approach to work, identify problems and find answers to them independently.
