Mechanical Design Engineer. Our global manufacturing client are looking for design engineer to join them on a permanent basis. The design engineer will seek out novel approaches to complex issues encountered by the design team and support other members of the team in successfully implementing these into products. Where possible the engineers will recognise the possibility for patents and applications. This role will look to collaborate with the marketing department to ensure the product is recognised in industry design award where this adds value to the product.
Mechanical Design Engineer duties include:
- Support project administration for both in market and new product development projects ensuring projects are completed both on time and to budget.
- Produce concepts and assist in estimating project time scales and costs for proposed projects along with generating clear and concise product specifications.
- Continual improvements of the design process to ensure that the processes the company use are both up to date and fit for purpose.
- To assist with both internal and external audits from regulatory bodies such as ISO, UL, WRAS, CE. Ensure all regulations are up to date.
- Undertake product testing required by the design and development department, issue reports and verify testing undertaken.
- Generate technical documentation for new product development or new parts, this includes 2D and 3D drawings.
