Applications Engineer- Responsibilities include:
- Providing support in creating customer sales presentations
- Contributing to sales growth, leading to increased order intake and a stronger market presence in the industry
- Attending trade shows and exhibitions across the UK and Europe
- Facilitating business development by identifying OEM partnership opportunities and strategic alliances
- Compiling internal sales documents such as cost sheets, quote templates, and client requirement sketches
- Ensuring client deadlines are met by understanding and meeting their needs
- Collaborating with the Engineering department to align the offered design/solution across the business
- Obtaining relevant project information and drawings
- Working with the marketing department to develop case studies and white papers
- Coordinating with the factory team to determine equipment delivery times and costs
- Monitoring pricing and market trends to make necessary adjustments
- Creating comprehensive handover packages for the Engineering and Project Management teams
- Enhancing technical sales and application knowledge to better support customized or application-driven systems
- Keeping accounts and CRM system up-to-date
- Maintaining an open opportunities log and reporting to the Sales Manager on a weekly basis
- Reviewing incoming leads and inquiries, progressing them as needed to support active sales activities
- Participating in client meetings, whether online or in person
- Preparing and following up on quotations via email and phone
- Taking individual responsibility for sales opportunities
- Updating quote templates and cost sheets based on design changes or price increases from the Supply Chain
- Assisting the Sales Manager in reviewing customer terms and conditions of sale
- Sourcing, contacting, and managing customers, representatives, and distributors
- Supporting or establishing sales representatives in Ireland and Europe
- Collaborating with agents to provide product knowledge and support for project conversion
- Assisting with equipment training provision
Applications Engineer- Knowledge, Skills and Experience Desired:
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings
- Familiarity with CRM software such as Sage and Salesforce
- Understanding of industry standards such as ISO and GMP Annex 1
- Preferred experience in technical sales
- Background in internal sales and customer service
- Possessing soft skills, including exceptional customer service and interpersonal abilities
- Having relevant technical engineering knowledge
