Position Title: Industrial Painting and Blasting Supervisor
Reports To Position: Director
Location/Duration: Glasgow region – 8 months (with potential to extend)
Duties:
- You will be responsible for supervising/managing workforce compliance with quality standards and procedures for the preparation of substrates and subsequent application of coating and surface treatments on long-term Marine and Infrastructure projects.
- The Supervisor/Manager reports directly to the Project Manager on a day to day basis as required.
- Management of the Day running of the workforce under their control.
- Ensure overall end to end compliance with Project Specification(s) and Client requirements.
- Ensure that material is stored and handled in accordance with manufacturer’s requirements and data sheets are available, when required, material traceability is maintained, and correct material used.
- Monitor performance of companies painting/blasting personnel, ensure Applicators are carrying out their works to the contract requirements and where required ensure that, equipment is in serviceable condition.
- Ensure inspection and test equipment is serviceable, within calibration period and personnel are knowledgeable in its use.
- Ensure blast medium and coating materials conform to project specifications.
- Ensure surface preparation blast profile/cleanliness meet requirements.
- Monitor dry film thickness and re-coating intervals.
- Ensure any identification marks or tags removed or over coated are replaced.
- Prepare daily reports on the work in progress.
- Carry out any other duties as and when required.
Experience:
- ICORR (Institute of Corrosion) Preferred but not essential.
- TTP or ICATS Supervisor Card.
- Painting and Coating Specifications.
- Blasting and Surface Parameters.
- Painting techniques.
- Coating repair systems.
- Required experience: Minimum 5 years.
