You will be joining an industry-leading contractor delivering highways projects in the Nottingham region. This multi-accredited and highly respected contractor offers a strong pipeline of long-term regional work as well as excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. They play a vital role in shaping communities through major infrastructure schemes and place social responsibility, environmental sustainability and quality at the heart of everything they do. Due to continued success, they are actively seeking a Senior Site Engineer/Engineer to join their team.
As Senior Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of a large-scale highways project, taking responsibility for quality control, engineering coordination and on-site technical leadership. Working closely with the Site Agent, supervisors and engineering teams, you will help drive continuous improvement, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, on programme and within budget, while meeting client and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing site engineers and supporting the Site Agent with daily site operations
- Supporting exemplary health, safety, environmental and quality performance across the project
- Leading quality control, with a strong understanding of specifications and DWI requirements
- Providing engineering and technical support to resolve site-based challenges and technical queries
- Taking a proactive approach to resolving unexpected technical issues and construction challenges
- Maintaining accurate setting out and dimensional control to ensure precise construction delivery.
What you'll need to succeed:
- A degree/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering (or related discipline) or experience equivalent
- Proven site engineering experience within heavy civils, ideally the highways industry
- Ability to plan ahead and effectively delegate tasks within an engineering team
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- CSCS card
