Senior Manager - Payments Finance and Economics
We’re looking for an experienced finance professional who wants to develop their career by focusing on the commercial aspects of payments. You will drive high profile, high impact financially analytical assignments to some of the world’s leading brands.
What we are looking for
Essential – a proven track record of:
- Understanding of finance and commerce
- Ability to absorb and process large amounts of data
- High-quality written and verbal communication, including experience preparing reports and presenting recommendations
- Communicating complex concepts to external senior stakeholders
- Thriving on data analysis, modelling and research
- Enjoys small company culture where everyone in the team contributes to the excellent results our clients expect
- Advanced Excel skills
Preferred
- Prior experience with commercial aspects of payments, especially cards
- Qualified finance professional (eg ACA)
- Familiarity with European or global payments markets
- Prior consulting experience at manager or senior associate level
- Experience contributing to or preparing bids and commercial proposals
Job overview
This role combines project delivery where the activity is focused on financial analysis. Data may be drawn from a wide variety of sources including confidential client information, PSE proprietary data and third party sources. You will need to be resourceful and ready to think laterally, especially when it comes to finding or modelling obscure data requested by our clients.
As a manager you will be responsible for leading project workstreams, managing day-to-day client engagement, and ensuring the successful delivery of consulting projects. You will work closely with directors and client relationship owners to understand client needs, shape project approaches and deliver salient recommendations.

What you will do
- Work full-time (37.5 hours a week), typically four days in our central London office and a day from home
- Be accountable for project outcomes, ensuring work is delivered to time, quality and budget
- Work closely with colleagues to develop analysis, insights and project recommendations
- Prepare clear and well-structured project final reports, ensuring insights are actionable and aligned to client objectives
- Present findings to clients, articulating complex concepts clearly and confidently
- Support the preparation of proposals, bids, and assignment scoping documents
Recruitment process
If short-listed, you will have an initial online interview with two of our consultants.
If successful in the initial interview, you will then be invited to visit us in our offices to meet the team and have a further interview in our offices with a small panel including our managing director. We will also ask you to carry out a case study before or during the second interview.
A job offer will then be made subject to our standard pre-employment checks.
