<b>Job Description</b><p>PSD Consulting are working with a large Financial Services business supporting them with a number of business initiatives for a large Digital strategy program, and are looking for a VB6 Developer to support an existing pipeline </p><p>As a VB6 Developer, you will be apart of a team of skilled developers and your deep expertise in VB6 technologies will be instrumental in creating robust, scalable applications. This position requires a proactive developer with a passion for problem-solving and a collaborative mindset and preference for a VB6 Developer with Pensions industry experience.</p><p>Leeds based, with a hybrid working model of circa 2 days a week in the office key responsibilities will include:</p><p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><b>Application Development & Maintenance (VB6 & .NET):</b></li></ul><ul><li>Develop, test, and maintain software applications primarily using VB6 technologies.</li><li>Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that adheres to best practices and design principles.</li><li>Continuously improve and optimize Legacy VB6 applications to meet current standards.</li></ul><ul><li><b>Application Design & Architecture:</b></li><ul><li>Participate in the design phase of software projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define architecture, system components, and interfaces.</li><li>Provide input on technical designs, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.</li><li>Assist in user interface design, ensuring intuitive, user-friendly experiences for end-users.</li></ul><li><b>Software Troubleshooting & Bug Fixing:</b></li><ul><li>Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects, ensuring minimal disruption to application performance.</li><li>Conduct code reviews and debugging to ensure a high-quality, stable product.</li></ul><li><b>Collaboration & Cross-Functional Teamwork:</b></li><ul><li>Contribute to team discussions on design, development, and deployment strategies.</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li><b>Experience</b>: At least 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on VB6</li><li><b>Technical Skills</b>:</li><ul><li>Experience with relational databases and SQL.</li><li>Familiarity with modern development practices (Agile, DevOps, etc.).</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</li></ul><li><b>Soft Skills</b>:</li><ul><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.</li><li>Self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn and grow in the field.</li></ul></ul></ul>
