A leading UK transport organisation is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a major transformation programme focused on optimising workforce management. This particular project will focus on the implementation of a vendor platform (HASTUS) for workforce scheduling / rostering. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in implementing a best-in-class workforce planning system, driving operational efficiency, and shaping scalable processes across a complex, multi-operating environment.
The Opportunity
You will work at the heart of a high-impact programme implementing an advanced workforce management platform designed to optimise scheduling, rostering, and daily operational allocation. Collaborating with operational teams, technology partners, and central functions, you’ll help design and deliver efficient, standardised, and scalable processes that support day-to-day transport operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead detailed process analysis across workforce scheduling, rostering, and daily operations
- Document “as-is” and “to-be” processes, identifying improvement opportunities
- Translate business needs into clear functional and process requirements
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to gather and validate requirements
- Support the design of workforce planning, scheduling, and dispatch processes
- Collaborate with technology teams and vendors to ensure successful system delivery
- Support UAT, integration, and data readiness activities
- Identify risks, gaps, and dependencies, supporting mitigation planning
- Contribute to change management, training materials, and user adoption
- Produce high-quality documentation including SOPs and process maps
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst on complex transformation or system implementation programmes
- Strong process mapping and analysis skills (e.g. BPMN or similar)
- Experience in workforce management, scheduling, or operational systems. HASTUS experience nice to have but not essential
- Ability to translate business requirements into structured solutions
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills
- Experience supporting UAT and full delivery lifecycle
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret operational workflows
Desirable:
- Experience in transport, rail, logistics, or similar operational environments
- Exposure to workforce scheduling tools (e.g. HASTUS or similar)
- Experience working across multi-site or federated organisations
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a large-scale operational transformation programme within a critical infrastructure sector, where your work will have a tangible impact on daily service delivery.
