Our client is a global technology provider operating within the air transport and government sectors, delivering advanced solutions that support airports, airlines, and border agencies worldwide. Their Borders business focuses on implementing secure, automated passenger processing technologies such as eGates and self-service kiosks, combining both hardware and software to enhance security, efficiency, and passenger experience.
About the Role
As an IT Project Manager, you will take ownership of end-to-end project delivery, ensuring solutions are implemented on time, within scope, and to a high standard. You will work closely with cross-functional technical teams, stakeholders, and external customers in a highly dynamic, international environment.
Key Duties:
- Leading the delivery of border technology projects, including automated border control (ABC) gates and kiosk solutions (hardware and software)
- Managing full project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
- Developing and maintaining detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation
- Coordinating with engineering, software, and deployment teams to ensure seamless delivery
- Acting as the primary point of contact for customers, providing regular updates and managing expectations
- Identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks and issues
- Ensuring adherence to governance frameworks, reporting standards, and project controls
- Managing project budgets, scope, and change requests
- Supporting on-site deployments and go-live activities, including international travel
- Driving continuous improvement and lessons learned across project delivery
What we are looking for
Knowledge & Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT Project Management
- Proven experience delivering technology projects involving software and/or hardware solutions
- Strong experience working with technical teams, including software development, infrastructure, and deployment
- Demonstrated ability in project planning, governance, risk, and issue management
- Experience in customer-facing roles, with strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate in international, multi-site environments
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- German language skills are desirable but not essential
- Experience within aviation, transport, or government/border control environments is advantageous
