About the Opportunity

An excellent Commercial Credit Manager role with an award-winning Bank in the West Midlands who have a warm, progressive culture and were recently awarded the Investors in People Platinum status in recognition of their strong values-driven approach.

As a specialist Lender, the Bank have been hugely successful in providing Asset Finance, Structured Finance, Development Finance and BTL Mortgages to SMEs & Small Corporates with a strong customer focus.

As Credit Manager/Partner, you will hold a level mandate with a broad remit, underwriting complex proposals for Asset Finance, SME lending, Corporate BTL, Real Estate and Aircraft Finance along with 2nd line Quality Assurance of existing lending to ensure key risks are monitored and controlled effectively.

Key responsibilities:

  • Consider underwriting referrals from the Bank's various business lines through the application of a Credit Committee mandate.
  • Review, assess and (where appropriate) restructure credit recommendations for approval or onward recommendation to Sanctioning Committee.
  • Complete 2nd line quality assurance oversight of new business applications by ensuring that the proposals being accepted are within the Bank's risk appetite.
  • Facilitate and chair monthly Credit Risk Review meetings between the business lines and Credit Risk.
  • Participate in lending initiatives and projects as they relate to Credit Risk.
  • Support the business lines in maintaining up to date and relevant policies & procedures.
  • Support with the annual credit review of key suppliers.
