About the Role

As a Project Manager you will drive a variety of project initiatives that meet the needs of our customer base. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with colleagues, partners and customers located in the UK. Success in this role means you pay attention to detail, be sensitive to schedules and budgets, possess influencing skills and enjoy working with others of diverse backgrounds.

Key Duties:

  • Managing projects: Project size will vary in scope and complexity. You manage the project throughout its life cycle - from inception through project closure. You manage gathering of requirements, estimation of effort and costs, producing a comprehensive Statement of Work and presentation to customer for approval. During the project you manage any change, manage risks, and deliver results to stakeholders and customers alike. You will be responsible for delivery of the project in agreed time and budget and the approved profitability of the project. Attention to detail, effective planning and stakeholder management skills are key ingredients to be successful in managing projects.
  • Working with project teams: Every project is delivered through team effort. You work effectively with team members that may be local or distant. You regularly track project activities against schedules and take corrective action on any deviations while motivating the team to deliver their best. You communicate with team members, stakeholders and customers regularly and frequently ensuring that there is continuous understanding and alignment regarding expectations.
  • Working with customers: You are committed to putting the customer first. As a result, you proactively work with the customer and their teams to ensure that the project’s goals and objectives are met with satisfaction. You effectively and regularly communicate with customers and stakeholders to keep them informed and gain their support and approval.
  • Project Management administration: You track the project through a well-developed project plan and ensure the resources utilised are in line with the agreed project budget. Your ability to articulate clearly are key skills to produce project documents. Documentation ranges from producing Statement of Work, developing communications strategy, producing resource and project plans, providing status reports, writing change requests, capturing and managing risks and issues to documenting lessons learned.

What we are looking for:

  • At least 5 years’ experience of managing projects involving IT infrastructure, networking and applications within a commercial environment.
  • Track record of success in managing multiple projects and programs of varying sizes, complexities, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Experience in managing network and infrastructure projects using internal as well as third party resources.
  • Experience engaging with and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Ideally you have experience with managing projects in the air transportation industry.

Education & Qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Formal project management training and certification such as PMP or Prince2 Practitioner.
  • Additional qualification in networking technologies would be an added advantage.
