Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Mac Engineer to join our End-User Computing team, responsible for the design, delivery, and operational support of enterprise mac OS services.
You will play a pivotal role in architecting and maintaining a secure, automated, and user-focused Apple environment leveraging Jamf Pro, scripting, and automation to deliver consistent, high-quality device experiences across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement mac OS configurations and policies using Jamf Pro, ensuring compliance, performance, and user experience.
- Deliver technical solutions for onboarding, provisioning, software deployment, and patch management of Apple devices.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash and the Jamf API to streamline operations and improve reliability.
- Collaborate with the Mac Product Owner and wider EUC team to translate requirements into technical designs and build plans.
- Support the rollout and lifecycle management of mac OS hardware and software, ensuring a stable and secure environment.
- Provide Tier 3/engineering-level support for complex mac OS issues escalated from service desks or field teams.
- Implement security controls and configuration baselines in collaboration with Info Sec and Infrastructure teams.
- Assist in testing and deployment of OS updates, configuration changes, and new Jamf features.
- Maintain and document build procedures, workflows, and operational processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, identifying areas for automation and service optimisation.
- Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience designing, deploying, and supporting large-scale mac OS environments in enterprise settings.
- Bash scripting – ability to build, debug, and maintain complex automation scripts.
- Jamf API scripting – ability to integrate, automate, and extend Jamf workflows programmatically.
- Experience with mac OS deployment frameworks, MDM configuration profiles, and Apple security features (File Vault, Gatekeeper, SIP).
- Enterprise experience managing 500+ Apple devices in regulated or security-conscious organisations.
- Strong understanding of networking, identity management, and endpoint security concepts.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, or version-controlled configuration management.
- PSSO (Platform Security & Systems Operations) or similar security engineering experience.
- Knowledge of Python, Swift, or Power Shell for cross-platform scripting.
- Experience with Intune, Azure AD, or hybrid identity management for mac OS.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery and project-based implementations.
- Understanding of Zero Touch Deployment (ZTD) and Apple Business Manager integration.
