A major UK organisation in the transport sector is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead a portfolio of engineering and maintenance focused technology transformation initiatives. This role will oversee the delivery of projects such as telematics upgrades, mobile technology solutions, data and reporting enhancements, and wider operational technology improvements that directly support engineering and maintenance operations.
The successful candidate will bring strong delivery leadership, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to coordinate work across engineering, operations, IT and supplier teams. This role offers the opportunity to drive meaningful technological change across a complex and dynamic operational environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the planning, execution and delivery of engineering technology projects.
- Manage project timelines, risks, dependencies and resource planning.
- Coordinate system implementation and integration with enterprise platforms.
- Oversee supplier and Systems Integrator performance, ensuring quality delivery.
- Work closely with engineering, IT, operations and business stakeholders.
- Manage governance processes, RAID logs, reporting and steering updates.
- Ensure compliance with safety, security and operational standards.
- Maintain delivery momentum across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Strong experience delivering engineering or operational technology (OT) projects.
- Proven project management capability in complex, multi‑vendor environments.
- Excellent stakeholder and supplier management skills across engineering and IT.
- Experience delivering system upgrades, integrations or replacements.
- Strong communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills.
This is a fixed term contract for the duration of the programme which is likely to be a minimum of 2 years. The role will be based in London with ideally 4 days per week working with the programme team. Candidates will need to be available to start in the next 4 weeks.
