London-based | Anticipated February 2027 start | Up to 24-month contract | Inside IR35

Can you turn a complex technology programme into a clear story that people understand and act on?

I'm supporting a commercial cards re platforming programme that needs an experienced Communications Lead to guide colleagues, customers and partners through the change.

The programme will introduce changes across technology and business operations.

Your role will be to explain why those changes matter, what they mean for different audiences and what people need to do before, during and after launch.

You'll own the communications approach from planning through to go-live and post-launch support, working closely with programme leadership, Product, Technology, Operations, Change and Training teams.

You'll need to be London-based, with an anticipated start in February 2027. The contract could run for up to 24 months and will operate inside IR35.

What you'll be doing

  • Build and deliver a communications plan aligned to programme milestones, stakeholder needs and launch readiness.
  • Create a clear programme narrative and recognisable identity, supported by consistent templates and messaging.
  • Produce leadership briefings, colleague updates, presentations, town hall materials, FAQs and practical guidance.
  • Help impacted departments understand new ways of working, address concerns and prepare for the transition.
  • Coordinate customer and partner communications, including launch notices, service updates and front line support materials.
  • Manage approvals with relevant business, Legal, Risk and Compliance teams, keeping communications accurate and appropriately timed.
  • Adapt messages when plans change and use feedback to identify where people need greater clarity.

Who I'd like to hear from

You'll have led communications for a complex transformation, technology implementation or platform migration, combining strong writing skills with the confidence to advise senior stakeholders.

You should be comfortable setting the strategy and producing the content yourself, translating technical detail into clear, practical messages for different audiences.

Experience in banking or regulated financial services would be valuable.

Commercial cards or payments knowledge would be an advantage, but strong transformation communications experience is the priority.

You'll work alongside the teams delivering the migration, taking ownership of the communications that help people prepare, stay informed and adopt the change.

If you've helped an organisation bring its people and customers through a major transformation, I'd welcome a conversation.
