The Role
As an Audit Manager, you’ll take full ownership of audit assignments, managing a team to deliver high-quality work while fostering strong client relationships. You’ll be responsible for overseeing engagements, mentoring staff, and ensuring a seamless audit process from planning to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage audit engagements, ensuring timely completion and adherence to audit standards.
- Act as a trusted advisor, maintaining and growing client relationships with a commercial mindset.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing hands-on guidance and feedback.
- Oversee audit planning, risk assessment, and resource allocation to drive efficiency.
- Work across multiple sectors, applying mix-industry expertise to deliver tailored audit solutions.
- Ensure compliance with accounting and auditing standards (FRS, IFRS) while adopting a practical, business-focused approach.
- Collaborate with Directors and Senior Managers to align audit strategies with business objectives.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance audit quality and efficiency.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA) with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong external audit experience within a variety of industries and local businesses.
- Excellent technical knowledge of FRS and IFRS, with a practical, business-focused approach.
- A proactive leader who enjoys mentoring and developing junior staff.
- Strong client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders.
- A problem-solving mindset, looking for ways to improve processes and add value to clients.
- Experience with CaseWare and CCH is a bonus, but not essential.
