Acting as the link between suppliers, the shop floor, and our customers, you’ll ensure the right components arrive at the right time to production lines and finished goods are dispatched safely and compliantly. This is a hands‑on role within a fast‑paced environment, ideal for someone who enjoys structure, accuracy, and being at the heart of operational flow.
Main Responsibilities:
- Goods In & Production Support
- Material Intake: Receive raw materials, chemicals, or sub‑assemblies; verify against Purchase Orders and Certificates of Conformity (CoC).
- Quality Gatekeeping: Perform initial visual inspections for transit damage and escape quality issues to the QC department before items reach the line.
- Kitting & Feeding: "Kit" specific components and deliver them to production cells just‑in‑time (JIT) to prevent assembly delays.
- Finished Goods Protection: Oversee the specialised packing of manufactured items, ensuring heavy‑duty crating or anti‑static packaging is used where required.
- Compliance & Export: Prepare technical shipping documents for domestic and international freight, including HS Codes, Certificates of Origin, and Dangerous Goods notes (if applicable).
- System Integrity: Update the ERP system to reflect the transition from "Work in Progress" (WIP) to "Finished Goods."
- ERP Proficiency: Hands‑on experience with manufacturing modules in ERP software is essential for tracking part numbers and batch codes.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read basic technical drawings or pick‑sheets to identify complex components correctly.
- Lean Mindset: Familiarity with 5S, Kanban, or Just‑in‑Time (JIT) inventory principles is highly desirable.
- Experience: 2+ years in a manufacturing or engineering warehouse environment.
- Certification: Forklift Truck (FLT) Counterbalance or Reach license is desirable.
- Education: Level 2 or 3 NVQ in Supply Chain or Warehouse & Storage is a plus.
