P+S Recruitment are pleased to be working on behalf of our client, who is currently recruiting for a Electrical Design Engineer to join their team based in Great Yarmouth on a full-time, permanent basis.
- Main Responsibilities
- Manage the full design process, from initial sales enquiry through to production, manufacture, site assembly and installation.
- Produce technical drawings, production drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to meet customer requirements.
- Create and maintain electrical and mechanical drawings for standard products and customer-specific projects.
- Control, revise and maintain all technical drawings and project documentation throughout the design and development process.
- Provide timely technical solutions to overcome design and manufacturing challenges while meeting budget and customer requirements.
- Research and identify suitable components and suppliers, maintaining positive supplier relationships and resolving technical issues.
- Develop and maintain technical specifications required for product manufacture.
- Ensure designs and manufacturing processes comply with relevant British and International Standards, keeping standards and specifications regularly reviewed and up to date.
- Support the Sales and Manufacturing teams with technical information and solutions.
Person Specification
- Minimum HND in an electrical engineering discipline.
- 2-3 years recent experience of using Auto CAD Electrical.
- Knowledge of electrical project drawings.
- Knowledge of Oil & Gas and Maritime Industries.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with co-workers and on project teams.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel.
- A pro‑active approach to role tasks.
- An ability to take a logical approach to role tasks.
- Working Hours & Benefits
- Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours per week.
- Flexible start time between 08:00-09:00 and finish between 16:00-17:00.
- Overtime subject to project requirements – paid at enhanced rate where applicable.
- Holiday entitlement 33 days per year (8 statutory, 3 taken for Christmas shut down).
- Life assurance (4 x salary).
