Flexible Support Worker – Colchester

Salary: £26,298 per annum Hours: 37.5 hours per week Contract: Permanent Location: Colchester

P&S Care & Support are recruiting for a permanent Flexible Support Worker to join a well-established community support service in Colchester.

This is an opportunity to join a supportive team working with adults who require assistance to maintain their independence and make positive progress in their lives.

The role involves providing practical and emotional support to individuals within a community setting.

You will work alongside people to help them develop confidence, improve their daily living skills and work towards their own goals.

You will build positive working relationships with the people you support and encourage them to make informed choices about their lives.

Support may include helping with everyday activities, maintaining accommodation, accessing community resources and engaging with relevant services.

The position is worked across a 7-day rota, with flexibility required to meet the needs of the service.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, approachable and able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.

You should be comfortable working independently while also contributing positively to a wider team.

Experience in support work, social care, mental health, housing, rehabilitation or another relevant environment would be beneficial.

We will also consider applicants with transferable experience who can demonstrate the right attitude and commitment to supporting others.

22 days' annual leave plus statutory bank holidays, increasing to 25 days following three years' continuous service.

The recruitment process

As part of the selection process, candidates may be asked to complete a short practical exercise based on a typical support-work situation.

Appointment will be subject to the relevant pre-employment checks, including Right to Work verification, employment checks and an Enhanced DBS check.
