P&S Recruitment are working on behalf of our client to recruit a College Tutor to join their team. This is an opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Tutor to support the delivery of learning opportunities for adults with experience of mental health difficulties, as well as their families, carers and professionals. The role will involve working across community locations and helping to create welcoming, inclusive learning environments where people can develop their confidence, skills and wellbeing.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for planning, developing and delivering a range of educational courses and activities.
  • You will work alongside colleagues and peer trainers to develop and facilitate sessions, adapting your approach to meet the needs of individual learners.
  • You will also support learners with enrolment and ongoing participation, monitor progress and attendance, develop course materials and contribute to the evaluation and development of the service.
  • The role will involve building positive relationships with learners, colleagues, community organisations and other professionals, as well as organising courses, workshops and other learning activities.

About You

  • The successful candidate will have experience of working with hard-to-reach groups or communities and have strong communication, organisation and planning skills.
  • You will need to be confident working independently, use your own initiative and be able to build positive relationships with a wide range of people.
  • Experience of designing or delivering courses, training or educational activities would be beneficial, as would an understanding of mental health, recovery and supported learning.
  • A Level 3 adult teaching qualification in Education and Training or above, such as AET, Certificate in Education or PGCE, would be advantageous.
  • Experience of co-production or working with people with lived experience would also be welcomed.

What’s on Offer

The role offers a salary of £27,000 per annum pro rata, working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, on a fixed-term contract until April 2027. The position also offers a workplace pension, death-in-service benefit, employee benefits and opportunities for training and professional development.

Additional Information

The successful applicant will be required to complete Right to Work checks, employment/career checks and an Enhanced DBS check. The client does not currently offer visa sponsorship.
