Reporting to the Operations Manager, as part of the site's first line team, the main purpose of the role is to lead the manufacturing team; delivering to operational targets within budget and timescale.

The successful candidate will be responsible for motivating, maintaining communication and supporting the team to the delivery of these targets both long and short term.

Driving synergy between support functions; Logistics, Maintenance, Engineering and QSHE, to ensure alignment and prioritisation of goals.

  • Ensure adherence and improvement in all safety and environmental standards.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership in driving toward a zero harm culture.
  • Quality
  • Maintain product quality and compliance.
  • Support the implementation of quality measures within all manufacturing areas.
  • Continually improve manufacturing Right First Time (RFT), supporting any quality complaints incorporating learning / corrective actions into the manfacturing process.
  • Performance
  • Monitor and drive the plant through OEE and Labour Efficiency.
  • Forecast from volume requirements, plan and implement accordingly.
  • Schedule adherence and customer delivery performance.
  • Develop and implement lean / continuous improvement activity and strategy.
  • Support the management of Inventory.
  • Cost
  • Identify, support and implement the minimisation of conversion costs.
  • People
  • Develop the sites manufacturing team via, engagement and skill development/training whilst continually improving performance.
  • Manage to site standards, conditions and procedures.

Skills And Experience

As the successful candidate you will ideally be educated to degree level in a technical or engineering discipline. In addition, you will be;

  • A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, motivating and encouraging others through an active leadership style.
  • Determined and decisive problem solver with methodical planning, analysis, organising and monitoring abilities.
  • Able to handle a variety of tasks and prioritise self and others accordingly.
  • Numerate, detail conscious with the ability to work with confidential information.

This role is based at our Wrexham site, the address of which is Oak Road, Wrexham Industrial Estate, Wrexham, LL13 9PH. We are able to offer free car parking next to the site.
