Prysmian Group, the global leader in power and communications solutions, is seeking motivated individuals to join our UK Power Grids team as Trainee Cable Technicians.

About The Role

As a Trainee Cable Technician, you’ll embark on a 12‑month, fully paid training programme based at our dedicated Jointing School in Eastleigh, Hampshire. You’ll learn from industry experts and gain practical skills in:

  • XLPE cable installation
  • Servicing and repairing fluid‑filled cables
  • Braising, welding, and lead plumbing
  • High‑voltage cable jointing and terminating (elastomeric and fluid‑filled)
  • Cable system maintenance

Upon successful completion, you’ll have the opportunity for further training and a clear pathway to become a fully qualified Cable Technician.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds but have found that people with experience in the trades (such as electricians, plumbers, mechanics, or similar) transition particularly well into this role.

Your hands‑on experience and proven problem‑solving abilities are highly valued here. Don’t worry if you don’t meet every requirement; if you’re passionate about learning and teamwork, you could be a great fit.
