Prysmian Street Lighting Department, which forms part of the Prysmian Cables & Systems Utilities Division, was formed in the early 1980’s carrying out Street Lighting Installation and Maintenance projects throughout the UK.
Operating from our Midlands Depots in Stourport and Atcham, the Department is presently responsible for maintaining over 100,000 street lights and illuminated signs within the local area.
Role
We are currently looking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Street Lighting team in the role of Street Lighting Highways Electrician. In this role you will carry out installation and maintenance works, on street lighting projects.
- Carrying out the routine maintenance, inspection, testing and rectification of faulty illuminated street furniture and associated equipment on site and at heights.
- Supervising Street Lighting Operatives when on site.
- Working alone or as part of a team.
- Attending training sessions as required
- Installing new equipment and associated works in accordance with the current edition of the Institute of Electrical Engineers, Regulations for Electrical Installation (IEE Regulations) and or contract specifications.
- Assist the Contract Engineer when required in the compilation of RAMS FOR Prysmian activities.
- Carry out daily risk assessments at point of work
- Ensuring that personnel under their control are provided with adequate information/instructions for safe working and shall further ensure they are clearly understood by respective recipients.
- Ensuring that any unsafe or non-compliant machine, tool or working appliance is immobilized and reported to the Senior/Contract Engineer.
- Reporting Defects, Accidents, Incidents, Diseases, Dangerous Occurrences, Near Misses and other nonconformities to the Senior/Contract Engineer.
- Driving and operating any allocated vehicle.
- Reporting vehicle defects/damage to the Senior or Contract Engineer and completing a Daily Vehicle Report.
- Maintaining all personal tools
- Attending breakdown incidents/emergencies and making safe damaged equipment.
- Ensuring that local safety rules and where appropriate safety rules pertaining to customer’s premises and work areas are complied with.
- Maintaining records as required.
- Carrying out such other duties as the Street Lighting Supervisor may determine.
