Overview
We currently have a requirement for a Laboratory Jointing Technician based within the High Voltage Laboratory at our site Bishopstoke, to work on Prysmian Group contract type tests and research and development activities.
Responsibilities
- To work on XLPE and fluid filled cable projects, assisting high voltage cable jointers.
- To assist high voltage test engineers in the setting up of tests
- To perform optical fibre jointing and testing
- Assist with general laboratory housekeeping
- Assist in plant maintenance activities
- To perform degasification and filing operations related to cable terminations
Qualifications / Experience
The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and be able to work to a high level of accuracy, in a fast-paced environment. The individual will be willing to work flexibly to achieve deadlines as required. A FLT licence is desirable; however, training can be provided. Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate at a variety of levels internally, providing feedback to the laboratory management. Experience in a similar role/environment is desirable.

The site location address is Prysmian Cables & Systems Limited, Chickenhall Lane, Eastleigh, Hampshire, SO50 6YU. There are good public transport links to Eastleigh and we are also able to provide free car parking.
